One of many joys of beekeeping comes in the early days. With so much to learn, a tremendous curiosity and maybe just a little trepidation, your start as beekeeper is a time you will never forget. We have found that the chances of long-term success are deeply entwined with an eagerness to both learn and listen. All new beekeepers have many questions, a significant number of challenges and a boatload of worries!
There are, of course, many ways to engage in beekeeping. These range from beekeeping clubs to books to YouTube videos and online courses (we recommend PerfectBee Academy!). But there’s another, often underappreciated way to build knowledge – following along with someone in roughly the same boat!
With this in mind we are delighted to announce a new series where we will be following the fascinating journey of Ana Marsden (you can learn more about Ana here). You will learn about a relatively new but deeply engaged beekeeper, from her 10 years in Bolivia (an interesting story unto itself) to her decision to take up beekeeping now that she is back here in the US.
We think you will enjoy Ana’s unique and enjoyable writing style and we know her questions, her challenges, her solutions and her pure enjoyment of beekeeping will bring a smile your face! So. Watch this space….
